We, at BACA, are glad that you have
chosen to enroll your child(ren) to our school. We hope that you will find
our enrollment process simple; however, if you have a question, comment or even a concern, please feel free to
contact us. Our office staff would be happy to provide you with the information
that you need or direct your request to the appropriate individual that can help
you.
This school admits
students of any race, color, and national and ethnic origin to all the rights,
privileges, and activities generally accorded or made available to the students
at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national
and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, athletics, and
other school-administered programs.
ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES
1. Both parents, and/or
legal guardian(s), and pupil(s) are required to:
a. Visit
the school for an interview with the principal (family conference).
b. Read
the school manual thoroughly and agree to uphold all policies,
procedures, and standards.
2. Parents are to:
a. Submit the
registration form with
the appropriate application fees.
b. Release
school records, including discipline reports.
c. Submit
pastor’s reference from the church currently attending.
3. Parents will be notified of acceptance.
4. The enrollment committee will make a decision and BACA reserves the
right to refuse admission without explanation.
5. Enrollment fees must be paid in full after acceptance. A spot will
not be held without this non-refundable payment.
*NOTE: All students must have the required inoculations and vaccinations
(shots). Official records to this effect must be received before the child
enters school. A copy of the birth certificate and social security card should
be included with these records. In instances where a student needs medical
attention, the school will call the parent or family doctor (in that order).
Also, all 6th grade students beginning with school year 08/09 may be
required to have an extra inoculation. Parents should check with their child’s
physician before starting 6th grade.
ADMISSIONS POLICY
1. As a general rule, children above the sixth grade level will not be
accepted if they do not want to come.
2. Potential students are assigned a number based upon the date of
paid registration. If a class is full, the child(ren) are placed on a waiting
list until space is available. Paid registration does not ensure that the
child(ren) will be accepted. It simply holds a place until a decision is made
concerning acceptance.
3. After reviewing records if a question arises as to the student’s
abilities or performance it may be deemed in the best interest of the student
to do one or more of the following:
a. Place the
child in the previous grade rather than to accept as promoted.
b. Recommend
further testing in order to better understand the student’s
abilities.
c. Accept the
student in the promoted grade under a special academic
probation.
d. Advise a
school more suited with differing academic settings and/or
Exceptional Education programs.
4. It is necessary to re-enroll each year and all admission policies
apply. Therefore, students may be denied re-enrollment based on any of a
number of concerns.
5. Junior High and High School age children must sign a behavior
contract, therefore, submitting to the standards of conduct of BACA. They also
agree to uphold a testimony of Christ due to the importance of their example
and influence upon younger students.
6. Usually, children are not admitted during the course of the school
year or after a term has started. Exceptions are only made through the School
Board.
7. Families are strongly encouraged to pray concerning leaving another
school, especially when it concerns another Christian Academy. An attempt
should be made to work out any problems before making a change of schools.
8. All children in the family are encouraged to be enrolled unless
special circumstances exist.
9. No child will be admitted:
a. who has
been adjudicated for, or confessed to, a violation (either felony or
misdemeanor), or after having a petition filed, has been
found guilty.
b. who has
used illegal drugs.
c. who smokes
tobacco or drinks any alcoholic beverages.
d. who has
been dismissed or expelled from any other educational institution.
e. who has
left a school under the pretense of suspension or expulsion.
f. who has
been married, has a child or is pregnant.
g. who has
run away from home.
**Note: Violation of the above by existing students is immediate grounds for
dismissal, to be determined by the school board. Any exception to the
admission policy must be approved by the pastor, principal, and official board
of Bethel Assembly Christian Academy. A definite proof of change of lifestyle,
such as salvation, will be considered in the exceptions under number nine. A
probationary period of 6 weeks will be considered for the above, then a
re-evaluation of that student will be considered by pastor, principal, teacher
and official board.
